NEW ORLEANS – Greenpeace says it disagrees with official statements that say most of the oil from the BP oil spill is gone from the Gulf of Mexico and added that it got a laboratory to confirm oil from the spill sits on the Gulf floor. John Hocevar, a marine biologist with Greenpeace, said during a news conference Monday that oil remains "on the surface, it's in the sediment, it's in the water column and it's hundreds of miles away from the spill site." By comparison, federal agencies have said that most of the oil spilled into the Gulf has evaporated, dissipated, been dispersed or been burned and skimmed up. Hocevar's comments marked the end of a three-month expedition in the Gulf by the group's Arctic Sunrise ship.
